About Roslyn

I am a community advocate, volunteer, wife and mother dedicated to the healthy growth of Madison Heights and the neighboring communities.
I have lived with my husband in Madison Heights since 2004 when I moved from Toronto (Canada) and we are the proud parents of two daughters who attend school in the city. We chose to live and raise our family in Madison Heights because of its charm, affordability, location, safety, and friendly neighborhoods.
I graduated from York University with a degree in Economics and later earned both the CFP (Certified Financial Planner) and CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designations. I worked for over ten years in financial services and through careful planning I was able to transition into motherhood as a full-time volunteer and community advocate.
Serving the public and connecting with people is important to me and is reflected in my long history of service to the community with activities that include Girl Scout leader, robotics team coach, school room parent, member of the Madison Heights Women’s Club and Charter member of the Madison Heights Moms Club International.
In 2017 I was elected by the residents to serve on council and in that capacity I act as the Council Liaison with the Crime Commission, Environmental Citizens Committee and Youth Assistance. As a council member I have also participated in several programs through the Michigan Municipal League (MML), the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG) and Michigan State University (MSU) extension.
I consider one of my primary responsibilities as a local Representative to be my availability to my constituents so we can work together to do what is necessary to maintain and improve the community for everyone who lives and works here. If you would like to contact me regarding any city concerns, I can be reached at RoslynGrafstein@madison-heights.org.
